It's a 2 way street and there is no answer. Just like you say you require deposits to ensure people are serious, there are also people who are scammers and requests depotits with no intentions of meeting the person, then your money is gone and no way to retrieve it .

The only people who have a problem paying a deposit are normally the ones who just wasting your time, unsure of the actual meeting or they have money issues. This why I choose who I meet clients contact me. I'm very professional. Like any professional service, when booking an appointment, any qualified service provider will require a booking fee.
The fee not only guarantees your booking but protects the person if for any reason you back out. I've had several over the years waste my. Ever since requiring a deposit, my time is protected.

I've met up with a couple guys on here... Hugeshooter, Mario, Justino, thickdocktop and none of them have asked me for a deposit. I can't imagine sending a stranger money without ever meeting them.
